Claude W. Davidson, son of Samuel and Mary Wilson Davidson was born Dec 3, 1894 north of Crawfordsville on the farm on which he lived until the time of his death. On Jan 8, 1934, he was united in marriage to Juanita Williams of Crawfordsville. He was a member of Young's Chapel Christian Church. He was a veteran of WW serving from July 1918 - Feb 1919. He was preceded in death by his father on Dec 17, 1939. Surviving are the widow; his mother of Crawfordsville; one brother, Floyd north of Crawfordsville and a number of relatives and host of friends. (poem)

Apparently the victim of an enranged bull, the mangled body of Claude W. Davidson, 46, farmer living north of the city, was found in a woods on the Talmadge Agnew farm on the New Richmond road early Friday night. Davidson, a veteran of WWI, had rented the woods to pasture a number of cattle and was believed to have been inspecting them when he was attacked by a young Polled Angus bull which was in the woods. The bull was the property of Davidson. The body was discovered after Clarence Steel, an employee on the Agnew farmer noticed that Davidson's car had been parked in the woods from 4 o'clock until shortly before 7 p.m. His curiosity aroused, Steel drove to the Davidson farm, only a short distance away and learned from Mrs. Davidson that her husband had not returned from a trip after leaving in mid-afternoon. Steel and Mrs. Davidson drove back to the Agnew farm and Steel went into the woods to investigate, leaving Mrs. Davidson in the car. About a half mile from the road, he found the mangled body of Mr. Davidson on the ground. Mrs. Davidson said that her husband had told her he was going to the John Layne farm, where he had another pasture rented when he left home. It is believed that after visiting the Layne farm, he decided to go on to the Agnew farm to look after his cattle pastured there. The tragedy victim was born Dec 3, 1895, the son of Samuel and Mary E Wilson Davidson. He was married a number of years ago to Miss Juanita Williams of this city. They have no children. Survivors include the wife; the aged mother, Mrs. Mary E. Davidson, 313 W. Market; a brother, Floyd Davidson who lived on the same farm; several cousins and a number of other relatives. Mr. Davidson served in the US Army during the last WW but did not get overseas. He was a member of the Young's Chapel Church. The body was taken to the Hunt & Son Funeral Home where an examination was conducted by Dr. TZ Ball, county coroner. Dr. Ball said Saturday noon that while he had not concluded his investigation he was convinced that Mr. Davidson had died of injuries inflicted by a bull. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the home of the mother, Mrs. Samuel Davidson as the body will be kept there preceding the services. - kbz
